Karba’s Vision for Ventura = a City of Good Fortune for All!
Karba is a Montalvo neighbor, environmental scientist and policymaker, and an engaged community member and progressive advocate. They’re running for City Council because District 6 deserves a council member who lives here, listens, and can do the work for us.
Meet Karba
I was born in New York to Austrian immigrants, found my way to Ventura after being offered a job in town, and eventually landed in Montalvo, where my mom now lives right next door. From the General Plan to the community council, I’ve spent years making sure our neighborhoods are heard at City Hall.

District 6
District 6 covers the southeastern corner of Ventura and is one of the most distinctive districts in the city, blending established neighborhoods, working agricultural land, industry and business parks, and access to the Santa Clara River and coastal estuaries. We have a little of everything in District 6!
It includes the historic neighborhood Montalvo (Karba’s home!), Lemon Wood Mobile Home Park, Rancho Ventura, Todd Ranch, Harmon Park and the surrounding residential streets; plus the Industrial Park / Olivas Park area, home to many of Ventura’s best breweries and employers, the Olivas Adobe, the Buenaventura golf course, and the agricultural fields and open space stretching toward the Santa Clara River mouth.
The map below shows the current District 6 boundaries, and you can look up your district by address here.
